Not read this in decades, but I remember it as being quite fun. I found a collection of Hurd's short stories a few years ago that weren't too bad: they had the feel of perhaps having been written in the hope of being televised.

I have a vague recollection that Scotch on the Rocks was in fact made into a TV miniseries or something of that ilk. To the Wikimobile!

Yep, BBC TV series, tapes wiped so it's no longer available unless a 16mm telecine print exists somewhere or some early VTR pirate recorded it off-air.
