Best Novel: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Anathem was runner-up for first place (by 477 to 357), but was also overtaken by Little Brother for second place. Saturn's Children fourth, Zoe's Tale fifth. Books which didn't quite make the cut: Matter by Iain M. Banks and Nation by Terry Pratchett, which came sixth and seventh in nominations. In the graphic novel section, pretty sure that the winner is available on the web, but then again not sure if the volume available is on the web, will have to check the website. Of the nominees, I have read the archive of first and fifth, and enjoy both for different reasons. While the art on merc is not the best, I am used to it now, and the story is bettr than you would expect. It is an intresting category, and will be interesting to see next year.

Surprised by how low fables came, but then it was the last book in a long arc, and some of the points of the book are built up over the entire story, and so on. If I had voted that would have gotten my number one.

The Firefly comic should not have even been nominated IMO. Franchise loyalty and badly-read nominators at their worst.
