I've been enjoying the first few Fables volumes, but skipped ahead to the latest because it is one of the Hugo nominees for Best Graphic Story. The big problem with the Graphic Novel Cat, much like the TV cat, is that the stories are part of on going storylines, which to the fans of those stories means that the stories have more impact because of what has gone before.

Anyway, I think that it's OK to give awards to single examples from a multi-part series (and this happens with the written fiction categories as well). Certainly it makes plenty of sense compared to the almost meaningless votes for Best Editor, Best Professional Artist, Best Fan Writer and Best Fan Artist, which really do seem to me to be popularity contests without any real consideration of the body of work produced in a given twelve-month period.
