Sore tooth and things

I have a sore tooth. It's the one that was completely replaced at huge expense last year after I broke it on an olive stone. I am seeing the dentist at lunchtime, and hope that they will sort it out.

Teehee! I have an ancient copy of 'An Irishman's Troubles with the Dutch Language", and found it hilarious. I'm glad it's available more broadly.

Join the club on the sore teeth - I went to see a dentist who told me I needed a root canal - and that she really prefers I have a mercury filling. I'm currently trying to find another dentist, temporary filling and all lol.

For the fungus, I had what is called ringworm for a long time and daktarin only killed it slowly. What is a good combination is rub it with isobethadine (iodine is a good fungus killer) and use daktarin on it, or another cream. I got myk-1 prescribed or something but couldn't use it due to incompatibility with breastfeeding.

I got a copy of "An Irishman's Troubles with the Dutch Language" when I first went back to the Netherlands and thought it very funny. Glad I can point more people at it now.

Difficult to believe that this dates from as late as 1970.

It's even more difficult to believe some of the "what? What's wrong with it?" comments...

When it got to "Boys invent things" "Girls use what boys invent" I became convinced it had to be a joke. Surely? Surely at least that little bit was tongue in cheek?

I was a Cub Scout. No Brownies in North Dublin, it seemed.

Nicholas, with regard to "An Irishman's Troubles with the Dutch Language", I have glanced at it and will save it to read until I have prepared for my morphology seminar. It'll be an appropriate motivation. Thanks for the link!

You're forbidden from getting any fungus on your lungs. A collegue's father has been v. ill recently due to Aspergillus.
