Office moving

Got a time line for the move yet?

On the one hand, the fact that I've done a large corporate move looks really good on my CV. On the other hand, the one thing I learned from it is that I never want to do that again. Not for the reasons one might expect, but because it brings out the stupid in one's co-workers like nothing else!

Thank God, there is only me and my assistant to worry about in this case! And out timeline is rigidly defined as 1 July.

That sounds manageable. At least if your assistant has an attack of The Stupid, it's easy to hide one body.

As The Stupid usually manifests as people getting their knickers in a twist about something that has nothing to do with them, it's unlikely that's going to happen. The long lead-up to bigger corporate moves doesn't help in that it gives people too long to stew about nothing.

It is rather extraordinary to sit in Belgium and have a conversation like that with someone who is in Brazil.

I remember sitting at home one Tuesday afternoon, conversing with eldritch00 in the Philippines and receiving a phonecall from my boss who was in Los Angeles. As I described it, I was sitting at home on Tuesday afternoon, talking to this morning and instant messaging tomorrow.

I must admit, it addled my mind for a few days.

Wanting to have a place that is more "ours", where we can have more control over the costs of phone, internet and other equipment; and expecting that this will also be cheaper.
