I remeber the discussion, it was what first made me aware of Scalzi. Android's Dream is currently top of my 'read next' pile although I've only also read OMW. Shame it's not as good as it could be (or just not to your taste), I'll have to see when I get around to it I guess.

Your comment about Scalzi's characters all speaking in the same voice is dead on -- and that really does get a bit tiring. Especially when the character is an alien!
