I did a double-take at your mention of Kevin Davies, because I have a Canadian friend with that name. He's an artist and musician.

The World Without Us is really excellent. The kids would find it fascinating too.

I'm sure you've read Blood.

Hrmph. It's hard now that I get so many from the library I can't remember what I've read. I know in the past few years I've gotten most of my non-fic science book recs from you. I loved the Demon under the Microscope so much!

I think I read Blood, but years ago... or is it a newer one I didn't know about?

I'm currently listening to "Critical Mass" by Sara Paretsky. It's fiction (V. I. Warshowsky [sp?]) but has a science angle in it. I heard about it on Science Friday of all places!
