Humourless feminist or?

I've been called a humourless feminist enough times to not quite feel comfortable asking some people, so I'll bounce this out here...

Went to my local hospital's website today, Evergreen Hospital.

At the bottom of the page, there is a listing of "key services". Here they are:

It's offensive.

It's also offensive because it's not parallel construction. The proper terminology would be

Pediatrics

Gynecology

Which would eliminate the offensiveness, because they'd mean "{women|children} have health issues that require specific medical training", and not "being female or a child is a health issue".

(And "Cardiac" should be "Cardiac Care".)

This is what I was thinking as well. They should have listings for Pediatrics and Maternity Care (or Gynecology if the department is that general).

It's a bit on the lame side.

I just checked my own hospital's website for curiousity and we call our section "Women's Health" and it is seperate from Pediatrics.

another "envy me, i went to a Wait Wait taping" comment: one of the panelists (maybe Mo again) made a crack about how the captain of that Italian liner managed to get the women and the children. This after Faith Sayley mentioned that he was allegedly with his 27-years-younger girlfriend, ordering dessert, an hour after the accident ( ... )
