It's not the world order, just the US, though of course the world will bear the consequences of our choices, and for that, I am sorry.

Sigh. So many things...

I have not read that perspective on Sanders before, but it makes sense. And I suspect Biden would have run into the same "insider candidate in a change election" situation, but at least he might have dished out the right kind of populist rhetoric to go nose-to-nose with Rump? Who knows.

News today (with appointments etc) is getting worse and worse.

Neither Sanders nor Biden, populist demagogues both, would have dared promise that they'd bring manufacturing jobs back, ya know? That's a Santa Claus exists! level of lie.

I will not be reading the news for four years. Wake me up when it's over.

I go back-and-forth between "i can't bear to listen to the news" and "i need to know what's going on, as bad as it probably is." My compromise for now is that I won't listen to the news if I'm going to be in a position where I can't be in a foul mood. I've never been so glad that we're still paying the Sirius XM subscription for the car, so I can listen to music that fits my mood!
