Summary: WF prompt- Bruce and Clark go on a picnic. This refused to be any longer than it is, and the boys didn't want to talk.

What a peaceful and warm feeling you convey in a few words. Bruce sleeping, in the sun at that, is such an unusual vision, but one I would definitely like to see for him. He seems so at peace with himself. I really liked the little reference to his parents.

I tend to see him in shadows, but a little sunlight is good for him. I think he gave up picnics with his parents, but now he gets them back!

How lovely! You paint such a peaceful picture here, NW.

I do like how Bruce is allowing himself to just relax, and I'm smirking at his description of an informal little picnic, Gotham-style. ;)

Clark is wonderful, absorbing the sun and smiling, then taking care of Bruce.

And, yes, that tiny detail about Bruce's parents is just perfect! :)

I've been reading a lot of menus for picnics while trying to create this, and the Gilded Era menus are a hoot.

I always see the parental Waynes as sunny people, but Bruce tends to be more in shadow. He needs a little light in his life!

I've read menus like that, in addition to the formal eight-course dinners! My goodness, the Victorians should have all been 300 pounds! The women especially didn't get much chance to exercise, and had to wear those awful corsets! But the dinners must have taken three hours and there was so much FOOD!

Well, "pleasingly plump" was the standard of the day. If you look at pictures of court beauties, most of them were statuesque women.

Mmm, this is a perfect treat for a cold winter day. I can just see all the golden light...and Bruce taking a moment to rest against Clark is just lovely...

In my head Bruce really sucks at relaxing, so seeing him be mellow is a good thing, IMO.
