Aaahhh! This was just what I was hoping for with this prompt! Its what I really wanted them to do when I wrote the story, even though it's not what they actually did. :) Super hot porn, and sweet too. Also, I really love Art's line about letting him wander around in traffic - that was pitch perfect Art. Thanks for taking such good care of my story! <3

Yay, I'm so glad you liked it! I was hoping you would, since I know Raylan/Boyd is one of your other pairings, and it seemed like the original story could have gone either way. Almost as if it was filled with Tim's sexual captivation for Raylan and all of Raylan's bitter regrets about how he and Boyd weren't ever going to get any better at the disjointed dance they were caught up in.

I do love Art, and his wonderful sarcasm. He absolutely kills me.

I really liked all of the quotes that you provided, and they were all so full of possibility! But I kept coming back to this one, to the combination of sadness and loyalty in Boyd's tone that evoked an entire mood all by itself.

Thanks for the great source material!

I love the idea of them arranging to meet like that! And I love the outcome ;-D

The arrangement was in the original story, I just provided a slightly different backdrop for it. When you see Boyd drinking alone in a bar at the end of a long day in early S2, and Raylan comes up to pester him about something Boyd has sworn not to be involved in anymore, your heart kind of goes out to him. You think, "Raylan, could you stop being an asshole for a second and sit down and have a drink with Boyd, and maybe just talk to him like you could believe in him for once?"

We always feel that tug in Boyd toward both Raylan and toward not following in Bo's footsteps. If anyone could pull him out of it, I think Raylan could, because he will never cave or compromise toward that side of the law.

The romantic in me can't resist manipulating that, and the characters and their complexities give you so much to play with!

Man I loved those scenes because you do want to tell Raylan to stop being an asshole but it's like he just can't stay away and he doesn't know how else to be around Boyd any more. And always thought it was also a warning to everyone else -- stay away from Boyd because I'm all up in his business and you can't have him :-D Even at their most estranged over the last three seasons you can feel that magnetic tug between them and it's so compelling! The romantic in me likes to heave tragic sighs :-D

Glad you enjoyed it-- and Art's line, too. I have an unholy love for Art and his sense of humor. :D

We know that Boyd has had the urge to walk the straight and narrow before, and even done it for awhile, so I can well imagine that it resurfaces. If anyone could help him do it, Raylan would be the one. It does remind me quite a bit of the Lex/Clark relationship in early seasons of Smallville: everything in his past pushes Boyd toward the bad, but he still has this rebellious desire toward the good. Whether Raylan has faith in him or not could make all the difference.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
