I love her dream/fantasy of Raylan and how he comes to represent everything Bowman doesn't give her. It feels very true to her character in S1.

This takes off in such an interestingly different direction from the other story, and you can easily see where the quoted lines inspired it.

Who in Ava's situation wouldn't dream of something different, of any kind of rescue from the slow hell her life has become?

Bowman, she thinks, has finally gone and done it. He’s smacked her dreams right out of her.
Love this phrasing, because while she realizes that on the one hand, he's destroyed her hope, she also now knows what she wants to do about it.

The ending is perfect for this story, which builds right up to the finality of that last line.
