OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS. ♥ It's such an interesting song choice -- you don't often see J/A approached from this angle, and there's something very satisfying and clever and spot on about this whole vid. A wonderful rebuttal to all that "Annie's starry-eyed and smitten and her crush is one-sided and she'd never be able to handle Jeff!" untruthiness. Watching this, I get such a feeling of, Yes, exactly; THIS is why I love them together.

you don't often see J/A approached from this angle

It's strange to me that people don't see it this way tbh. Annie's had Jeff under her thumb the minute she shed a tear. He even told her he was trying to build up a tolerance to it. Not that manipulation is the greatest thing in relationships, but people who claim Jeff is too "old, worldly, cynical" or what have you, for Annie are just... I dunno. He used to be a lawyer, manipulation was his job, and Annie knows how to get her way, that says something. Annie is capable, and knows herself better than most of the group. So I really wanted to show that side as a counterpoint to people claiming she's too naive/too young for Jeff.

Jeff: If it's any consolation, she got me here on a very misleading text message...
Annie: Jeff! Technically you ARE about to be screwed in the biology room because our final project has been destroyed! That's not a throw-away line, Annie knows how to be cunning. Just because she doesn't constantly use it, doesn't make it less true

This is a glorious comment, and I agree wholeheartedly with all of it. :D I am so over the perception of Annie as somehow too naive and innocent for Jeff -- they're equally matched and well matched, and at this point the age difference basically just seems like an excuse to avoid a really poignant and wonderful ship for exactly no discernible reason.

I really like your song choice because I think, as dollsome says, it shows a side of Annie that people often overlook

Thank you!! The minute I heard the song I knew it was made for this pairing. And I edited the beginning the way that I did because, yes, Annie is a girl. She lusts after Jeff and that's okay! but it is most definitely not one sided. So when the song goes into the main part and the "beast" he's singing about becomes the woman, I thought it fit Annie perfectly. She is often overlooked, and I liked showing that she shouldn't be. "See? There was a twist!"

Honestly Jeff should know better by now hahaha.

And yes to that line = Annie
