I agree entirely with the first half of your post. It is unacceptable that people behave in this manner toward each other. I am ashamed of them, to be clear. But I am also ashamed of these people, these people, and these people.
I agree with this video, though, this is my perspective. Except, of course, that my grandmother, the person I respect and love most in this world, is gay, and (before she died), she had a partner for 30 years, and I want her to have the right not to be a little less alone in the world - the right to fail at marriage the way the rest of us do. He says, in case you don't want to watch, "You want to sanctify your marriage, honor your god and the universal love you believe he represents? Then spread happiness. This tiny, symbolic, semantical grain of happiness. Share it with all those who seek it. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

I may jump around a bit in my response here. First, thank you. Thank you for reading, thank you for taking the time to comment, and mostly, thank you for respecting my thoughts, even though I know we don't necessarily see eye to eye on this issue. I hope you know that I respect and appreciate yours as well

That was an interesting video, Jay. I would have to agree that extremism of any form is not good for society. However, it does sound like he is saying that any type of religious belief, because it cannot be proven by science, is a ridiculous absurdity. The thing is, science cannot prove there is a God (or Allah or whatever) but science cannot disprove these claims either.
One thing I would vehemently disagree with is the statement that Jesus hates homosexuals. That is just not true. Jesus loves all people, He came to save the WORLD. There is a common phrase that goes like this: Love the sinner, hate the sin. The Bible does condemn that behavior but also tells us not to judge, and instead to rebuke (admonish) one another in love...because not one of us is perfect, not even one.
Thank you for taking the time to read, and for your comment. I do appreciate that, even if we do disagree. :)

There are blatant hypocrites on both sides and people who resort to fighting speech with physical violence are wrong for doing so, need to be held accountable, and only hurt their cause. You don't get a pass for being on the right side of an issue. Being right about one thing does not make you right about anything else! Besides, the other believes they're the ones on the right side of the issue

I agree about the colored page, by the way - that doesn't sound at all promotional.
