Shifter problems aside I must say I'm jealous, we have quite a while to go before bicycle season here (except for those who like to ride in the snow) and my motorbike is doing a fine impression of a snowdrift...
Was in the UK briefly last week, & it was so nice to see green grass & some flowers!
One of the things that really decided me on moving to the UK was driving from Kingston to Trenton one snowy day, temporarily ending up in a snowdrift, and then getting on a plane and seeing a lovely green Oxfordshire on 23rd December. Then getting on another plane and getting back to Trenton only to find my battery was frozen flat.
It's pretty consistently above zero now, even at night, which is nice. I'm hoping to do a bit more cycling soon, especially since I finger-tightened my shifter. Then of course I'll go to Ottawa in two weeks' time and freeze my ass off.
Let's hope the weather here will improve for your visit!
Today, I saw a young man riding a unicycle down one of our snow and ice encrusted sidewalks! With his hands in his pockets (presumably to keep them warm given the nasty windchill). A bit mad, even in the context of our winter cyclist population.
