He's a Broadway veteran - Ed saw him in a production of "Assassins" a few years ago and said he was amazing. This just proves it! Forget Hugh Jackman, they need to have him every year!
Saw him in Cabaret - as the Emcee no less - and he managed to be menacing which for Doogie Houser is a feat. There's also a great recoding of him doing Sondheim's Evening Primrose. I LOVE his "I'm Here".
Thought the broadcast was pretty good overall. Loved the opening number, coulda done with out the numbers by the touring casts of older shows. Thought giving the best male performance to three 12 year olds was a little wtf? But the original musicals were a little weak this year though I haven't seen Next to Normal and I've heard good things. After the broadcast, I'm dying to see all the revivals.
