I am now in my second week of my new job at the prison. There is so much to take in - the nurse side of things is fairly straightforward, but there is so much that goes with working in a prison that may take a while to get used to. The wings look just like you see on TV - its like the set of Porridge or something ( Read more... )

The gay cowboys (and similar AMAZING fabrics) are very tempting. I am also inspired by that tunic/dress thing that Claire makes (the Magic Roundabout one). The problem is that I will go "hey, how hard can it be?" then get really hacked off with it and give up.

Hi Liz,
Another friends Mum works as an Education Officer at some prison in Cambridgeshire, would you like her telephone number so you can get some other perspectives on Prison life ?
While I am not at all into this kind of thing try Cross Stitch, various other friends have made some really nice patterns with them.
As to the house cleaning, if you ever want a holiday in Southampton.....

All the best and send my Best to Kit

Hiya

That's a really kind offer re your friend's mum, but I think it's just a question of getting used to being in that environment, rather than anything specific.

The thing with me doing crafts is that I'm all about the end product, rather than the process. And I have very little patience. So am unlikely to do cross stitich as the end result isn't really to my taste.

I wouldn't encourage me to clean your house - I am also a big fan of de-cluttering and would try to make you throw away half your possessions. And alphabetise everything in sight.

Take care,

Liz x
