Baby, it's Cold Outside
There was a few ways Allelujah liked getting up in the morning. There was waking up to the smell of breakfast being made, or to the sunlight peeking gently through the blinds, or (and this was his personal favorite) someone curled up next to him, breathing in their scent. What he did not like waking up to was a snowball thrown into his face.
Christina laughed as she stood in the doorway, geared up in her winter coat and boots. There were snowflakes in her hair and her cheeks were rosy from the cold, and Allelujah would have loved to kiss her if he currently wasn’t shaking snow from his blankets.
“Chris, what are you doing?” he asked with a hint of irritation in his tone, then hissed a bit as a bit of melted snow slipped down his back.
“Phase two,” she grinned, watching as Allelujah got out of bed and tried to scoop the snow off the sheets.
“What are you-” Allelujah had turned to talk to her, but Christina pulled another snowball from behind her back, hurling it at him, hitting him in the chest. “Chris!”
She squealed and ran from the room, laughing as she escaped down the hall. Alle brushed the snow from his chest and grabbed his clothes, pulling them on quickly. He chased her out of the room and down the hall, and caught a glimpse of her escaping outside. He grabbed his boots and coat from the closet and went out, looking around the yard for any sign of her.
“Allelujah!” she called, and he looked to his left only to have a snowball hit him square in the face for the second time that morning.
He saw her duck around the side of the house and he followed her, managing to catch her while she was bent over, trying to make another snowball. She screamed when he picked her up around the waist, pleading between laughs for him to put her down as he carried her to a snowdrift, dropping her into it.
He grinned as she struggled to right herself, finally giving up after a few minutes of sinking further into the pile of snow.
“Alle,” she held her arms out, “I can’t get up.”
He leaned over to grab her arms, pulling her out, and brushing some snow from her hair.
“Are we done? I want to go make breakfast and…”
He was cut off as Chris reached down and grabbed a handful of snow, dumping it on top of his head before running off again with a laugh. He shook his head to get the snow off then went after her again.
He chased her around a tree for a moment before snagging the back of her coat, pulling her to the ground. She squirmed and squealed as he pinned her down, unzipping her jacket and lifting the hem of her shirt before shoving a fistful of snow and ice underneath it, patting it down as she screamed and kicked.
“You’re cheating!”
“You cheated first!” he reminded her, pressing a quick peck to her lips before letting her up. She stood and shook the snow from under her shirt, sticking her tongue out playfully at him. He laughed as he got to his feet, brushing his pants off as Chris zipped up her jacket again.
“Alle,” she called, and he looked up just as she tackled him, sending him back into the snow. She sat up, straddling his hips as she grinned down victoriously at him.
“We’re back to tackling again?” he asked a little breathlessly. Chris nodded with a grin.
“All’s fair in love and war.”
Allelujah smiled, noting how Christina’s hand moved to grab more snow and he did the same.
“I agree.”
She threw the snow in his face just as he reached up the back of her shirt, pressing it against her back. She squeaked and he rolled them over, pinning her to the ground again.
She laughed, bangs damp and the tip of her nose bright red from the snow. He pressed a kiss to it and she sighed, leaning up for another kiss to her lips. They stayed like that a few minutes until a shadow fell over them and they looked up, Chrome standing there, looking at them with a raised eyebrow.
“If you two are hungry, I made breakfast,” she commented, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I’ll put some towels by the door.”
“Thanks Chrome,” Chris smiled from her place on the ground. “We’ll be there in a minute, I just have to do something.”
“What?” Allelujah asked, looking to her.
Chris smirked, wiggling an arm free before taking a handful of snow and shoving it down the front of his pants.
“That."
