Ooh, yuck. I'm perfectly willing to share some of our Seattle weather! It's been really awesome here. Yesterday, I think it maxed out at 68, was quite breezy, and we had pouring rain with a tiny bit of thunder and lightning last night (which is very rare for up here). Today I think it got to 75 and partly cloudy.

I wish we could share! Honestly, I'd get tired of a lot of rain and clouds; but even I get tired of nice bright sun for four months on end. :p

Humidity is an EVIL thing. *hiss*

I had to walk to the shop and back today (half-hour each way). Temperature was upper 80s/low 90s. Going there, the walk wasn't bad at all after some dry days; but there was one little rain shower on the way back, followed by sun, and at that point I was turning into a puddle. The Florida climate is not fit for human habitation. :Þ

Sounds JUST like Houston! Ugh!! Why anybody ever settled on the Gulf or Florida coasts, it is really hard to figure.

As I've always said, Florida is water with a little bit of land scattered through it.

I looked up our weather when you posted this--it was 104, felt like 98, and 7% humidity, if I remember correctly :)

I actually like moderate humidity. Dry drives me crazy! Coming home from college in Atlanta to cracked bleeding skin was never fun. And humidity often comes with cool breezes, even if it's hot, unlike our opening the oven blasts of wind.

Really though, it's the sun here that gets you. It always feels about 50 degrees hotter than it is when it hits your skin. Yuck.

That sounds about right!

Yes, super dry is really hard on skin. The only thing it's good for is hair that's prone to be frizzy. And especially if you got used to Atlanta! I looked that one up for my "wet" comparison, but they're actually having thunderstorms right now so it wasn't apples to apples.

Yeah, the radiant heat from the sun is really unpleasant. Humidity feels smothering, like being in a warm, sticky blanket; but it's still nothing like the real pain of that sun. I went swimming a week ago; we were with my baby niece, so mostly just talking and keeping an eye on her. Bobbing around, not really swimming. When I chanced to touch my head, my hair was painfully hot to the touch. Ow!
