Second Time...

Is there anything wrong with seeing a movie more then once in theatre? I mean, unless you are outrageously rich and own a home theater, then you can see the movie again.

There's just something...magical about seeing a movie in the theater...other then the douches who won't shut up. They aren't really magical...just douches.

So today, since our AC is ( Read more... )

I saw The Dark Knight something like five or six times in theatres. I made a deal with myself to only watch it with new people each time I saw it so that I wouldn't end up spending all of my money seeing it again and again alone. It worked out really well because in addition to basically getting an opportunity to really digest everything in the movie, I also got so many different perspectives to talk and discuss the film with, and to date it is one of those few movies I feel works as a recognizable bridge amongst many people I know for what I call "a shared text", the type of reference everybody in a room is supposed to get that, back before the post-modern era, was built out of classic books and well-known mythology, and these days at best often is just pop-culture in-jokes (for instance, hatred or love for Twilight, people know what the hell you're talking about when you mention it, is the thing ( ... )

Noooo problem. I'm actually glad.
The more friends the more I feel loved.

It took me a while, but I learned that about "Let Me In"
My parents saw it and enjoyed it. It took away from the excitement (knowing that it's a remake) but I hope it lives up to the actual one if possible.

And I understand budgetary. I was only able to see movies more then once when with my family...I'm a mooch. But now that I'm at college, I'm on my own and probably won't be seeing many movies at once.
But I never have thought about doing that (seeing a movie more then once with different people). I always just do it with my parents and we end up having a discussion about the different things we noticed the second time around.

I also added you. :)
