I do intend to go back and work on my Soo Lin portrait, but I couldn't resist the siren call of Lucy Liu. *sigh* Those cheekbones. Am I the only one who kind of wishes Liu were playing Holmes? Miller would be an excellent bumbling Watson. :)

Wow, this is nice. She's definitely recognizable. Watson in this series is a bit thin, and her clothing is quite plain, from what I've seen. I've been spreading the Liu as Sherlock idea. People are liking it!

:D Thank you! Hmm, I rather like Liu's clothing in this series. It isn't very colorful, but the shapes are interesting--all drape-y and layer-y. Yeah, it seems like a number of people would have liked to see Liu as Holmes. Sounds like it's time for fanfic to step in! ^_^

Yeah, I didn't realize it was such a popular opinion! But I can see how--there's something sharp and demanding about Liu (not just her face either!) that fits better with my expectations of Holmes than Watson. And it seems like she's done at least as much crime solving for the past two episodes as Holmes himself! Fandom fixit time?

I like Lucy as Watson, actually, if only because it's such a strong contrast to the (IMO, at least) passivity of BBC!Watson. *nods*

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a fanfic with a role reversal.

Hmm, I see that. I agree that it's nice that Elementary has taken the modern interpretation in a different direction--it dispelled any worries I had about it being too derivative. Role reversal fanfic would be awesome! I'd write it myself, but my writing muse appears to have gone on extended leave and I haven't been able to do anything but fanart for months. :( Hopefully someone else will go for it!

I rather agree with you for the character switch. And I've only had a chance to see the first episode!(The second is on dvr. I just got home from a trip and will be watching it ASAP). Unfortunately, I don't think they will consider this brilliant idea.
