"...It's the tenth?" Katie can practically hear the wheels in his head turning; then, suddenly, his eyes widen and he lurches forward. "The GymGreen actually manages to sit up and swing his feet to the floor before his body gives out and he ( Read more... )

Graceless was certainly right. His weight felt almost dead on her, causing a small, uncomfortable groan to escape her lips. What was happening? The moment had passed so quickly that Katie could barely process.

But here she was, in such close proximity that she could not only hear his breathing, but feel it against her own skin. She gasps and can feel her face flushing. Nothing had happened - of course not. And nothing would, but it didn't stop her heart from increasing it's speed, thumping loudly in her chest.

"A-are you okay? We.. we should.." She tries to finish the statement, but takes a moment. The words catch in her throat. What's right is to get him back into bed. What she wants is to stay this close a little longer, as wrong as that was. He was sick. She couldn't take advantage of him like this. Especially not like this. No, not ever. "We should get you.. back in bed."

She pauses again, unsure of what she was really saying or doing. That was good enough. She needed to see what he would say before she could even try to help

Green groans slightly as his vision stops trying to fade out, but his head is still spinning. He can feel her heartbeat thrumming against his chest. He stirs, and their cheeks brush together; her skin is cool in comparison to his, and he stays close for a moment longer before pulling away.

Her voice is shaking; somehow it catches his attention. He's crushing her, he realizes. His hand runs lightly down her shoulder and arm before slipping off and finding the floor he was searching for. Now that he has something he can lean on, he tries to lift himself up, but he start shaking before he can get very far, and he sinks back down, resting his forehead against hers, trying to catch his breath.

"Sorry," he whispers, staring at her. Then his eyes close. "You're...you're right, but..."

His arms tighten around her, the slightest squeeze.

Katie's face flushes just a bit more - her cheeks were starting to rival Green's in term of color now. As he begins to lift himself up, her eyes study him. He was definitely very different when he was sick. That had to be it. Surely if he was well, he would have called her clumsy and pulled himself away by now.

After all, she knew Green well enough to know he wasn't usually this way. This was close, almost clingy and touchy-feely, especially for him ( ... )

Green's breathing is deep and slow as he tries to gather his strength. He feels her arms come up around him, and he relaxes into it. "You're here," he says softly, as if it's the only thing that's important.

He remembers after a moment that he's supposed to be getting off her, and he tries to move again, all at once this time-the rush of motion almost works, but at the last moment he overbalances and tumbles to the side.

The breath is knocked out of him as he curls in pain against her, and his pulse hammers in his temples. When his head clears, one arm is slung across her waist, and-his lips are pressed against her cheek.

He pulls away, looking uncertain as his face reddens.

"I'm..." She chokes on her words though, completely not expecting that Green would ever say that.

Even though he moves away, in this moment she actually does feel important, relevant, something she often doesn't feel looking at the people around her. People with closer bonds, people who are far superior as trainers. But right now? None of that really seems to matter.

Her eyes are watchful as he tumbles, and she moves - just enough to make sure he doesn't get hurt. But she feels it; His lips are soft against her flushed cheek. It's warm, but of course it would be when he's still feverish.

She keeps watching, unsure as he pulls back. Seeing his cheeks flush, she smiles a little. Katie can't help it, he's cute. Green was always attractive, but right now, it was almost unbearable.

Katie's hands are still trembling, but she moves it closer to him, brushing a piece of hair away from his eyes. "It's... it's okay. Don't push yourself too hard, Green. I-I don't want you to hurt yourself."
