Biscuits!
(cookies, to you American folks, because TV has taught me that you regard biscuits as things to be eaten with gravy and this OFFENDS MY DELICATE SENSIBILITIES, so it does. [Does the phrase "delicate sensibilitiees" remind anyone else of Mourning Broekn Angel's fic Downfall? No? Just me? ok.])

Anyway, as I am a benevolent dictator, I shall ( Read more... )

Biscuits are soft delicious bits of bread! I don't like them with gravy, though. I much prefer your types of biscuits anyway.

I'm going to assume that bicarb is baking soda (which is, I think, sodium bicarbonate) and go from there...

In recipes here they always give butter in cups, and one stick equals 1/2 cup. How many cups of butter does 250g seem like to you? Most cookie recipes are 1 cup of butter, but that looks like slightly more flour & sugar, so...

Actually, never mind. Everything here also has metric on it, though it's always odd numbers because it's not the primary system. (Slowly we're working over - last month some ice cream companies switch to liters instead of gallons for their cartons.) One stick is 113g (1/4 lb). I just looked in the fridge. : )

Yes, bicarb is baking soda. I'm pretty sure, anyway. Right now, it could very well be the vodka talking.

I'll let you handle the handy dandy conversions and you can let me know how the baking goes 8D

Enjoy! And don't share, they're too good.

Whoa. For a second I was all, "It's a little early for that, no?" but then I remember oh yeah, other side of the world messes with time and stuff.

DARLING. It is NEVER too early for vodka.

Ahem. 'Scuse me as I channel my inner Pansy there for a second.

But yes, it's night time, 11pm. Still, our uni tavern opens at 11am, so I COULD be drinking in one of your mixed up timezones. TAV. Yay.

1) Withhold them until he truly deserves them.

2) You make them sound more like crumpets ><
Brit-Speak (which = Oz speak, or close enough to) FTW. Watch The Bill for c. 20 years and you too can have an effective grasp on the original flavour of your language!
