First of all, Robert Forster is from my hometown. <3333 Love him so much. I just love the caliber of guest stars Numb3rs could get.
My little pacifist heart goes all aflutter during this ep because of Alan's protester past.
LOL! I don't know that I ever noticed the look on Colby's face before when he and David walk into the office and Larson has Alan's file on the table in front of Don. His look is totally, "Crap! Is it too late to sneak out?"
I love Megan. It just bears repeating.
I like Charlie and Larson sitting at the bar together.
Alan explaining what a phone tree is to Don always makes me LOL.
Colby talking about making moonshine in college is the most adorable thing ever.
Love the conversation between Don and Larson near the end. And the conversation between Don and Alan. I just love how many shades of grey come into the morality on this show. And they do it in a way that seems totally natural for the characters.
Apparently I have no critical commentary at all on this one.

OMG. I'd completely forgotten about that! hahahahaha. This is why I love these revivals. LOL.
I too loved the look on Colby's face when he and David walk in to the office with Larson having Alan's file. Colby didn't have to say anything. His facial expression let you know just what he was thinking.
Megan was pretty great until Season 4. Didn't really like her in Season 4 but... that's for another discussion. LOL.

I think that was truly one of the most wonderful things about Numb3rs and sadly, that's what I miss the most and why I can't find a show that even comes close to being as great as Numb3rs was. I'm so spoiled. *sighs*
One of my favorite things about rewatching these episodes is seeing how the director paid so much attention to those little exchanges of expression between David and Colby and Megan.
And yes about the morality! Justified has that, but I know you said that one hit a little too close to home. Sons of Anarchy DEFINITELY has shades of grey morality issues, but you need a strong stomach for that one (although, Charlie Hunnam's pretty makes up for a LOT, lol!).
I totally missed Colby's "AWKWARD!" face, I think this is the perfect excuse to watch it a second time in a day!
I loved that bit at the end where Alan and Don are making up and Charlie is sat at the top of the stairs listening, and as soon as his dad and his brother are friends again he's like, "YAY!" *happy downstairs skip*.
Also Don's little sotto-voce "commie" during that scene.
I also really liked the black-and-white riot footage that was indispersed with the episode.
Some fantastic backstory on Alan Eppes, a wonderful dichotomy between old and new FBI, Charlie and the suspect's daughter bonding--it's a great ep
