Welcome to the first Numb3rs Big Bang Challenge for writers and artists. In the tradition of other fandom big bangs, this challenge brings together writers and artists to produce fiction of novella-length and at least one piece of art to go with the story.

WRITERS: RULES & INFORMATION

• Stories must be at least 20,000 words long. There is no maximum length.
• Stories may be femmeslash, general fiction, het, slash or a mix of genres.
• Stories must be fictional person fiction only; this challenge does not include real person fiction.
• Stories must center on character(s) from the Numb3rs canon.
• Stories must not be posted anywhere on the web prior to posting date.
• Stories must be complete - no works in progress or previously posted work will be accepted.
• Alternative universes are allowed; crossovers and fusions are not allowed.
• Writers may also choose to do numb3rs_bigbang art but not for his/her numb3rs_bigbang fic.

ARTISTS: RULES & INFORMATION

• Art includes: fan mix with at least 8 songs, a series of at least 8 icons, a video, a podfic, a single piece of two-dimensional art like a cover or banner.
• At least one piece of art is required; if the artist would like to produce additional work that is fine.
• Artists may claim additional fic after all artists have chosen a fic.
• Artists may also choose to write numb3rs_bigbang fic but not for his/her numb3rs_bigbang art.

DATES TO REMEMBER

01 February - 28 February → sign-up for writers
01 February - 31 May → sign-up for artists
31 May → Complete drafts with summary (including title and pertinent warnings) due
07 June - June 13 → Summaries with title and warnings (minus writer's name) go up for artists to claim a fic
14 June (or before if all claims are taken) → Artists are matched with their writer to begin collaboration
30 June → Final fiction and art drafts are due via email to n3bbmod at gmail dot com
05 July → Posting of art and fic begins on a staggered schedule

Writers have 3-4 months to complete their first draft (depending on sign-up)
Artists have 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 weeks to complete their first draft of art (depending on sign-up)
