A student walked across the street, nose in a book, earbuds in place. He didn't even look up at the screeching tires.
The delivery van driver managed to miss the student, but not the Volvo at the corner.
The Volvo bounced over the curb and smashed into a tree.
The tree fell, narrowly missing a red Civic.
The electrical wires did not miss.
Rachel Osaki froze at the crackle of electricity around her car.
Ray Galeski decided that leaking gasoline and live wires were a bad combination. He grabbed a two by four from the delivery van and managed to sweep the wires off of the Toyota, allowing Rachel to escape.
The gasoline caught fire, the Civic went to Honda Heaven in a blaze of glory.
Amazingly, the only injuries were Rachel's bruised shins and a nasty burn on RayRay's hip.
