David Sinclair found himself hurrying from one hospital to another. He wended his way through the emergency waiting room, past the worried parents with the wailing babies, the sulky teens, a stoic blind man with an equal stoic seeing eye dog. Oddly enough, he didn't encounter any wheelchairs, canes or crutches until he found his way through the maze of corridors to a smaller waiting room that was parked next to the x-ray department.
He was lead through the maze by the sound of an argument. Neither Nikki or Colby were actually shouting, but their voices carried clearly.
The nurses looked relieved when David flashed his badge at them and told them he was here to take his agents... elsewhere. He had a hard time preventing his jaw from hitting his sternum when he finally got a look at the quarrelsome duo.
Colby was in a wheelchair with a cast from his left knee to his ankle.
Nikki had a crutch leaning against her chair. One of her boots was sitting on her lap and her right knee was heavily bandaged.
"I take it the bust didn't go well," David said dryly.
Nikki growled, "Tell Agent Granger that he can't really fly. He falls... WITHOUT style."
Colby snorted. "Tell Agent Betancourt she should be nicer to the man who saved her life!"
"I had everything under control," Nikki snapped.
"You were stuck half in the window and half on the fire escape!" Colby returned. "He was going to shoot you!"
"So instead of shooting HIM, you jumped from the roof, bringing the whole thing down on us!"
David held up his hands. "Children, where is the suspect?"
Colby and Nikki blinked. "Oh," Colby said. "He's in there." He pointed to the X-ray room.
"He broke both his legs," Nikki smirked.
