It was astonishing that David Sinclair was able to stay long enough to hear Larry's story.
The doctor's had just sent for Amita when David's cell phone buzzed. He stepped out to take the call, then came back inside to excuse himself. He came back long enough to say good-bye and promise to come back as soon as he could.
"I can drive them," Charlie huffed.
"No," Alan said.
"Definitely not," Don agreed.
"Can I get a ride with you, too?" Amita asked.
Charlie hit her with puppy eyes. "I'm hurt!" he said.
"No," Amita said. "I'm hurt. You're insulted."
