"Dad?"
He found his father sitting on the floor. Laundry was scattered across the garage. The laundry basket was on its side against the far wall.
"Dad? What happened?" Don blurted.
"I tripped over the laundry basket," Alan grumbled.
Don manfully swallowed at laugh.
Alan glared.
"Is it bad?" Don asked.
"If it wasn't I wouldn't be asking for your help!" Alan snapped. "I need a ride to the emergency room."
Don hesitated, but he'd been told not to drive. "I'll call David," he said.
