If backup was on its way - and the radio wasn’t malfunctioning at the worst possible time - then it was appearantly stuck in traffic. Come on, David thought to himself.
“I’ll go,” Amita said. “I’ll go get Charlie.”
“Good,” Cameron approved.
“Amita!” Sinclair said, his face expressing himself quite well.
“I’m the only one who can go,” Amita told him. “Anyone else, and the standoff falters. As I’m the only one without a gun, I can leave without shifting the balance of power.”
“How do we know you will return?” Cameron asked. “You are slated for termination.”
“Agent Sinclair is a friend of my boyfriend’s. Why would I leave him hanging?”
“Self-preservation,” Cromartie said.
“Never.”
“Thanks,” David told her.
