Intimidated by vegetation

Yesterday, I cut the grass in our backyard. Some of the grass had reached shoulder height. Good thing the neighbors are tolerant. The raspberry bushes are officially out of control...maybe next year I should do some pruning and moving around to create a small labyrinth.

One of our neighbors stopped by this morning to ask if we were growing grass under all that black plastic. Hahaha.

Also, I am contemplating buying either this small branch chipper or this one. Maybe soon we'll have a three car driveway again...

...which explains why our neighbor (across the street and two down) complimented me on how nice the yard looked as I stopped on the way out the door to pull up more Japanese knotweed.

Well, the price seems reasonable. One question would be whether the blades can be taken somewhere to resharpen, or if they sell replacements blades, and how much chipping one should expect to get per set of blades. The leaf shredder I have uses nylon string as the cutting mechanism, and the speed difference between when you put in new strings and when they are worn down is very large.

Your front yard is beautiful, though! I love all your flowers.
