hah! one time, dad took robert and i to bainbridge island on the ferry, and we were sitting on the benches and looking over the side of the boat. along the railing, there was a metal bar that came up from the ground and supported the rail, so it made a triangle with the rail and the ground. but it stuck out from the rail about a foot. so as we sat there, we watched about ten different people walk by and trip over it.
