Did I give you a signed copy of the Brightonomicon cd thingy a while ago? The one with Andy Serkis et al? Im a HUGE Rankin fan! He hes a fan club called Sprout Lore and there are regular drinking/social events in Brentford (west London) which I gather he often attends...
You did indeed! And shame on me for not listening to it yet! It's still in a box. :( Did Mr Rankin sign it as well? (I can't remember. I know Andy did.)
As he didn't have that one out, I had quite forgotten about that he'd done Brightonomicon until I got home.
Hmmmm... Perhaps a pint in Brentford might be in order. :D
I would be game for that. Ive been ,eaming to check itout for a while but have never got around to it. Ive been to a few of his signings at Forbidden Planet and last time I was there I was talking to some of his regulars in the queue - they seem like a nice bunch and they regularly do stuff. He did sign the box too I believe but was probably dwarfed by the collection of wrong-uns that also signed. If you want them I have a spare set of badges he designed himself to commemorate his 30th book being published? If you havent read much of his stuff though I really recommend you go back to his first five books (including The Sprouts Of Wrath & The Brentford Chainstore Massacre). The whole Brentford thing makes so much more sense if you read those first.

Message him on facebook :) It's probably an assistant or something, but you could give him your phone number with a little message.
