Oh dude. >___< Well, I believe you remember the moon landing, just 'cause that is so cool!

My first news memory is also space program-related: the Challenger explosion. I was in third grade.

Challenger I remember far more clearly, obviously :-) I was on my way to work and heard it on the radio... we spent the next few hours in front of the big screen TV in the bar watching it over... and over... and over... it was like Koyaanisqatsi stuck in a two minute loop :-/

The weird thing is I remember the Apollo landing, I remember the house, the TV, everything, but I don't think I knew what it was at the time. Only later when I got really interested in the space program (right about Apollo-Soyuz, I even built a model XD) did I go "oh yeah, I remember that" and that was the beginning of "oh no you didn't"... :-/

Your family needs to check their facts. Remembering events between the ages of 3 and 7 is fairly common. Some people seem to have recollections of events as early as 2. And how crazy is it for someone else to try to tell you what you remember?
