Yesterday my dumb fuck sister texts me. That's right, texts. Five + months without a phone call and I get a text. Apparently she didn't forget or lose my number (she used to pocket dial me a LOT and that was fricking irritating. Now? She seems to have remembered how not to do that either. Interesting)

Why didn't you tell her the truth? It's not like you are speaking to her anymore. Just tell her how you feel in a somewhat polite way. Maybe you can work the shit out?

I didn't tell her because it didn't occur to me to be anything but my usual conciliatory "no it's okay don't worry about it" self. Pretty much the same thing that happened when the proofreader stabbed me last year, took me a couple of hours of "did what I just think happened happen?" before I figured it out. Because I'm slow on the uptake.

This after FIVE MONTHS of not one person in my family trying to contact me. Not ONE.
