Stop me if you've heard this one--perfectly fine happy dandy person gets flu shot, and within hours is sick as proverbial dog.

I know, I know, it doesn't work that way. Flu shots can't make you ill; it's not live virus. And yet, here I am. Eyes puffed up so bad it's hard to see screen. Neck swollen and sore. Head full of stuffing. Aches everywhere

Allergic reaction? Was it the piggy flu shot? Just asking since there's been a bunch of incidents of kids with no allergies or previous complication history getting a violent reaction to the bacon-flu shot. For whatever reason they're kinda downplaying the reactions (as opposed to how they're blowing the whole swine flu "epidemic" consistenly out of proportion) in the newspapers. But you know.. there's getting a reaction as in having some itching and reddishness, and getting a reaction as in having to be pumped full of adrenaline and being taken to the ER like in these cases.

no, this was the usual yearly flu shot. They asked me if I'm allergic to eggs or chicken (because of how its incubated) but I have no allergies and no sensitivities. They did say that since it was my first one they wanted to watch for about half an hour if I did get a reaction. Well my reaction started four hours later, well after they left the building.

Didn't have any itching or site reaction; my face just turned into a balloon.

I was going to get the H1N1 too but jeez, after this kind of reaction to the normal one, I'd rather risk it. :-P
