(((sorry))) I've been there once or twice myself, though usually regarding art trades instead of money.

This is why I think if there isn't a good, solid track record of meeting deadlines, artists shouldn't be paid until the art is done.

If there is, half up front at most. Me, I never take money until I'm done.

yeah, from now on, if (BIG IF) I ever try to get a commission again, I am not paying in full up front. But that's if I ever do it again. I'm still mad enough getting burned by three different people in three different ways over the same stupid damn picture.

So very sorry. It seems to be a plague in the commissions circle. Starving artist begs for commission, starving artist asks for money up front from kindly commissioner, starving artist spends money and disappears.
