CHARACTER INFO
CHARACTER NAME: Lenneth Valkyrie
SERIES: Valkyrie Profile
RESERVED: Yes
WISHLIST: Nope
PERSONALITY: For the sake of simplicity, I'll use what I wrote for
another game I had her in before it closed

Lenneth is a very serious young woman, living by the philosophy of “All work
and no play”. She is duty-bound and performs that duty to the best of her
ability, doing nothing less if it is within her power. She is very loyal to
Odin and Freya for a majority of her life until the Nibelung Ring is stolen.
Even after that, Lenneth performs her duty valiantly, finding good in humans
she selects as Einherjar and making sure they are fit to fight for the gods
before sending them to Valhalla.

She has a tendency to regret some choices, seeing the way people curse her as
a “Death goddess” and claiming she steals the lives of men and young men alike
that go into battle. It often makes her question herself and her duty, even
coming close to allowing herself to be killed by a young man. However, the
pride with which her Einherjar carry themselves and the high esteem that they
carry her in reminds Lenneth that she is not a Death goddess but one who
chooses valiant warriors to serve the gods of which there is no honor higher.

Of the three Valkyries and the middle sister of Hrist and Silmeria, Lenneth is
the most level-headed, not allowing simple things like stubborn Einherjar to
frustrate her. But she also isn’t easy on them, not giving them the benefit of
the doubt on every little thing or letting them get away with something. As
with the Realms on Yggdrasil’s branches, there must be a balance.

Lenneth is compassionate towards humans, the result of her emotions and
memories being released upon the loss of the Nibelung Ring (which was placed
on her by Odin and Freya to seal away such emotions so that only her duty
remained) and recovering Platina’s earrings: one from Lucian and one on her
grave in the Weeping Lily Meadow. She’s seen enough humans suffering and being
used by selfish gods, her own life included that she can’t look at them as
pawns for the use of the gods.

Compassion, love and regret are far from her only emotions however. When she
first discovers that Lucian was killed by Loki, Lenneth was anguished, letting
the pain of his loss overwhelm her to the point of an emotional breakdown.
When confronting Loki, she exhibits pity on the god who was born half Vanir
and half Aesir, destined to be scorned by both and never accepted by anybody.
Even himself.

Lenneth is quite human in personality, but she doesn’t believe in cruelty.
She’s seen the homunculi that Lezard creates, knows they are made from humans
and elves and that they are killed in order to create homunculi in her image.
Such barbarism sickens her as do unhealthy obsessions with her.

TIMELINE: Close to the end of VP2, before she gets trapped in a crystal
BACKGROUND: Again, I'll use what I wrote for another game, if that's
okay. I'd actually really hate to rewrite all this.

Chooser of the Slain.

“The second of Fate’s three daughters.” - Covenant of the Plume description of
Lenneth.

Lenneth has seen many incarnations, each time existing in the body of a human
girl until her death which would lead to her birth as the Valkyrie. When this
time comes, all human memories are sealed away.

We first meet Lenneth when she chooses Thyodor, the father of a boy named
Wylfred, as one of her Einherjar. His death leads Wylfred’s family to poverty.
Without money to purchase food, his sisters death is unavoidable and his
mother loses her sanity. Seven years after his fathers death, Wylfred swears
vengeance upon the Valkyrie and he takes the Destiny Plume left on Thyodor’s
body which is soon blessed by Hel, goddess of Nifleheim. This Plume will help
him in his journey to slay the Valkyrie.

When he finally encounters her, and they battle, Lenneth tells Wylfred that he
needs to stop depending on the powers given to him by Hel and the Destiny
Plume. While fighting, one of the Einherjar that Lenneth gathered defends her
and is revealed to be Wylfred’s father. Ailyth demands that Wylfred pay the
price from his deal with Hel. Not doing what is demanded, Ailyth prepares to
take his soul but before she can do so, Thyodor takes his place. Angered,
Lenneth takes up her sword and demands that her Einherjar be returned to her.
Besides it being impossible, Lenneth is reminded that her actions could start
a war between Asgard and Nifleheim.

Leaving Wylfred to his life, Lenneth leaves. It is then decided that Lenneth’s
compassion for the humans on Midgard is an inconvenience. Freya and Odin
decide that all of her memory will be stripped away on her next awakening,
leaving only her duty.

She next begins her journey by awakening in Valhalla and is drawn to meet with
Odin, Lord of the gods where she is given a mission: “Collect Einherjar for
the upcoming battle; Ragnarok approaches.” Sent down to Midgard with this
mission, Lenneth’s first two Einherjar are Jelanda and Arngrim; victims of
treason by the Artolian, Lombert, who served the king. He received the ghoul
powder to change Jelanda by one, Lezard Valeth, before drugging Jelanda and
sending her to Villnore. He is soon confronted by Lenneth and Arngrim. When
dead, Lezard resurrects him as a one eyed beast and steals the Nibelung Ring
that seals Lenneth’s memories and emotions.

She continues her journey, gathering Einherjar and sending them to Valhalla
until she hears another dying soul. This one was once the teacher of Lezard
and atop his tower, he gave her husband ghoul powder. He then let the demon he
became slay his former teacher, all with the intent of drawing Lenneth there.
And lured she is, taking the woman as an Einherjar and venturing into the
tower to confront the man responsible. She finds all manners of disturbing
things in the labyrinth of a tower he calls home but finally she finds him,
waiting for her. Summoning two undead creatures to fight with him, Lenneth and
her Einherjar eventually defeat them though Lezard escapes by using an ancient
teleportation spell. After he disappears she discovers the homunculi in his
tower, all with her appearance. Lenneth destroys them in anger.

Lenneth’s memories and emotions gradually continue to come back as she moves
forward in her journey, soon taking a young man with her: Lucian. Lucian
remembered a girl who looked identical to Lenneth and her name was Platina. He
and Platina had run away together, to keep her from being sold by her parents,
but she died in the Weeping Lily Meadow. While with the Valkyrie, he gives her
an earring that had belonged to Platina. To help Lucian move past these
memories, and to give him peace of mind about her uncanny resemblance to
Platina, Lenneth gives him a kiss and sends him to Valhalla where he meets the
God Loki. Convinced by Loki that the Dragon Orb, one of the Four Artifacts
that balance their world, will return the Valkyrie’s memories as Platina,
Lucian helps him but is only killed in the process and Loki regains all of his
powers as a Vanir and an Aesir.

In Midgard, Lenneth’s memories start to floor back as she visit’s the Weeping
Lily’s and finds an earring. Her earring from when she was Platina and the
match to the one Lucian gave her. To keep the seal intact, Freya seals
Lenneth’s soul and awakens Hrist, the Dark Valkyrie as Lezard refers to her.
Lenneth’s Einherjar refuse to heed Hrist’s commands and she prepared to
destroy them for it, only to have them teleported away at the last moment by
none other than Lezard. He informs them that there may be a way to save
Lenneth, but it will require three mages: Himself, Jelanda and one other whom
he already has in mind. He leads them to Flenceburg where they recruit the
assistance of Mystina, an old classmate of Lezard’s. Before she can outright
refuse, Lezard reveals her body: Mystina is already dead and has no choice but
to help.

Tracking down Hrist; Lezard, Arngrim, Jelanda and Mystina find her in the
castle of Brahms’, Lord of the Undead. In a twist of fate, Brahms’ assists
them in defeating Hrist and the mages collect Lenneth’s soul in a crystal and
they hurry back to Lezard’s Tower where he has a younger, childlike, homunculi
waiting. Casting a spell that even surprises Mystina, Lezard places Lenneth’s
soul in the body where it immediately ages appropriately and Lenneth regains
consciousness. She immediately cries out for Lucian, knowing of his death at
Loki’s hands.

Returning to Valhalla, Lenneth finds Freya crying over the body of Odin,
begging him to wake up. Exchanging few words, Lenneth seeks out Loki to avenge
Lucian and to right the damage he has done. He is surprised to find that
Lenneth can compete with him, even defeat him.

“Do you know why Odin became Lord of the gods? It is because he is half elf
and half human. gods are static and cannot grow. However, since Odin possesses
the growth ability of a human…” -Lezard Valeth

Lenneth discovers the ability to grow within her. She is no longer just a
goddess, she has the ability of Creation inside her. Defeating Loki, she takes
him within her, only seeing a sad child. A child who was not accepted by
Vanir or Aesir, forever scorned by both. Lenneth restores the damaged Valhalla
and Midgard, and restores the lives of the Einherjar that were lost.
Including Lucian.

Later, Lenneth discovers that time is being distorted, events rewritten. And
by none other than Lezard Valeth, the only human to survive Ragnarok. Using a
device in the abandoned city of Dipan, he’s traveled back in time to rewrite
history and to become Lord of the gods himself. Traveling to Dipan herself,
and making use of the device, Lenneth pursues him in an attempt to minimize
the damage. However, she must be wary as only one Valkyrie is to be awake at
any one time. And Lezard expected her to pursue him.

And in this time, Silmeria and Hrist are awake but only by a mistake in the
Sovereign’s Rite, which sealed Silmeria’s soul in the princess of Dipan,
Alicia. Hrist pursues Alicia and Silmeria in an attempt to force her back to
Valhalla and back into the service of Odin, however Silmeria refuses. This
continues until they reach Dipan and Hrist has Alicia’s father executed. While
on her way to the execution, Hrist pauses, sensing Lenneth. Lenneth hides
quickly and continues to watch events unfold; continues to keep an eye on
Lezard.

It isn’t long after that Alicia confronts Hrist, after learning of her mothers
death as well. The undead mages of Dipan begin to cast the Sovereign’s Rite,
only to be destroyed. Lezard quickly plays his hand and completes the casting
of the spell, having used the mages to learn its secret. He steals the soul
of Silmeria and disappears only to reunite with them in Valhalla. He assists
Alicia in attacking Odin. When Alicia is flung away, Lezard kills him using
Silmeria’s powers and takes Gungnir as well as inheriting Odin’s soul.

Creating his own world, he awaited the arrival of Lenneth, not caring that his
world was causing all nine of the other Realms to collapse. There, Alicia and
her companions team up with Lenneth and Hrist to defeat Lezard. Sealing
Silmeria’s soul in a homunculus and creating one of himself, he sends them out
to attack them all, losing Silmeria in the process. It matters little however,
because as they proceed, they encounter Lezard and, casting the Sovereign’s
Rite, he captures Lenneth. Collapsing part of his world to keep the heroes
away and sealing Lenneth in a crystal, he prepares to join his soul with hers
so they can share eternity together.

Alicia and her companions make their way back quickly, and confront Lezard,
destroying the crystal to free Lenneth. Merging all three Valkyrie’s in
Alicia’s body, they create the true Valkyrie and they kill Lezard. The
process, however, kills Alicia as there is no body that can contain Valkyrie.
Rufus takes this hard and decides to take the place as Lord of the gods,
awaiting the reincarnation of Alicia. In the end, all the Valkyries, Alicia
and Lezard are reborn in a revived Midgard.

ABILITIES:

Lenneth is a goddess whose skills with a sword are unchallenged in Midgard,
should close combat required. She is also highly skilled with a bow, which can
be used to hunt for food, and can also summon her wings and fly a person who
is injured somewhere safe to be treated. Listing:

Swordsmanship- Lenneth’s weapon of choice is a sword. It’s always seen hanging
at her hip in any incarnation. Physically, she’s a strong fighter, which
makes her a valuable ally in any fight.

Archery- Lenneth is also proficient in the use of a bow and arrows. If watched
closely in the game, it looks as though she’s capable of firing two arrows at
once.

‘Concentration’- Lenneth can use her ‘Concentration’ ability to sense those
about to die, and that have the potential to become Einherjar. While on the
island, Lenneth can use Concentration if someone goes missing. If they’re
close to death, she’ll be able to locate them and carry someone to treat them.

Flight- She’s a Valkyrie with wings and she flies for just about all of
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. It doesn’t show her wings during game play but in
cut scenes, she’s does unfurl them.

Nibelung Valesti- Lenneth’s Purify Weird Soul, there are two types. One uses
her sword and the other, her bow. Both end with multiple spears through the
body of her enemy, though.

Valkyrie- When merged with Hrist and Silmeria, as well as a host, Lenneth and
her sisters become the true Valkyrie. Her power exceeds even Odins’ and
Lezards’. Killing anyone with the Valkyrie’s power can literally destroy their
soul, keeping them from being reborn. However, the creation of Valkyrie is
always short-lived and will kill the host body; the souls will be lost and
forced to reincarnate on their own. This doubles as a weakness.

GAME INFO
EDENSPHERE NAME: Lily
BIRTHDAY LOG: Yes please!
DREAM:

She found herself sitting in a meadow of lilies. Silver hair loose from its
braid blew around her in a breeze she couldn't feel, the moon high in the sky.
Behind her, she could hear a voice though she couldn't place to who that voice
belonged.

"-Weeping lilies!" Is that what they were called? They were so lovely though.
How could anyone look upon these and think of the word 'weeping'? And then, the
sound of someone weeping draws her attention- A young woman with blonde hair,
weeping over the body of a man. At her shoulder was another woman with longer
blonde hair, this one wearing armor. Neither face could be seen, turned away
from her. Both seemed, no, felt connected. As if the grief of one bled into the
other.

And even she could feel their grief, if only minutely.

'I know them...' But she couldn't remember them. Is this why they were
called weeping lilies? Because they were connected to pain? Or was it symbolic?
Her mind raced and she stood, taking a looking around the valley. As she slowly
gazed around, bodies seemed to materialize. Each one killed in one manner or
another.

"Why...?" She question, voice small and saddened. And then, a stray tear fell
down her cheek at the sight of so many lives lost. It was normal, lives being
lost. Inside, she knew that. Seeing them all laying there though, dozens upon
dozens upon dozens more bodies... It was overwhelming.

JOURNAL SAMPLE:

[The handwriting is distinctly feminine, with a slight curl to some of her
letters and each word carefully written out. As though she was giving careful
thought before each word is written.]

My name is Lily. At least, that is the name I've chosen. Can everybody really
read what I'm writing? It's a bit funny to think they can. I feel I'll write
something foolish for all to see.

I feel... At home here. I can't explain it but Edensphere feels comfortable, I
like this feeling. As much as I like it though, I'm feeling a bit stir crazy.
If there's anyone that would ever like to go jogging or something relatively
athletic with me, I would very much appreciate it.

[Strike outs are illegible. She went through those thoroughly.]

ASPIRATIONS:

I'm looking forward to starting plenty of Character Relationships for Lenneth,
and exploring her more feminine side rather than the personality we all know
and love. While it's still part of her, I'd like her to try to become more
relaxed.

Dear Casper,

Thank you for your patience! After reviewing your application, we would like more information on one of Lenneth's abilities, her Nibelung Valesti. We would also like information about a couple of abilities which were omitted- specifically, her ability to make crystals and her Soul Materialize.

Please feel free to submit these revisions and we will continue processing your application. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask a moderator or helpstaffer!
