What do the following people have in common?

Tom Seaver
Ken Griffey, Sr.
Ken Griffey, Jr.
Sparky Anderson
Babe Ruth

None of them are best known by their given name: George.

I'm sure I had a few others that fit this category (from outside the world of baseball), but I can't seem to remember them now.  The only other example I can think of is James T. Kirk ( Read more... )

You don't blog for 3 weeks and this is what we get? I can only imagine the other shit that you had considered blogging about, but decided against.

"Hey, I realized today I've never seen an overweight amputee. What's up with that?" . . . "Nah..."

I don't know what's up with famous people named George not using the name George. The irony is that George Washington and George Carlin were both really named Harold. Little known fact.
