If there was planning and a dance involved? You could be sure that Anya would be there. She was so excited for the Halloween ball -- last year's had been fun and confusing and depressing all in one go, so what did this years hold? There were endless possibilities. And with that kind of mystery, you could be sure that she wouldn't let her house make a flop of the dance. Nope, she was gonna do her best to make it the greatest Halloween ball the school had ever seen!
Okay, so she wasn't sure how that would happen, but as she bounced about after reading the notice, you could say that ideas started to pop in her head as well. "Oh my goodness, isn't this exciting?? It's going to be great!"
Where Anya was, Trip probably wasn't far behind. Unless there was snogging involved.
Trip jumped up and down. "My first ball! And we get to plan it! Anya, this dance has to be the BEST DANCE EVER." She whipped a notebook and quill out of her bag. "What do you think, we have to have costumes, right? And some spooky stuff- think we can get the ghosts to help us out? And the band! We need someone cool, someone we can dance to!"
Elizabeth almost walked past the notice before she registered the crowd of students around it. Squeezing in next to her roommate, Camilla, she began to read. As she read the announcement, her smile widened. She heard a student declare how awesome the dance would be, and she could only agree. They would outdo anything any of the other houses might plan. She wasn't sure how but she knew she was right.
She was equally certain that (if she had anything to say about it) the ball would be the perfect thing to rewrite the horror of last year's dance.
