Personality:
Dylan's a mess. Not an emotional mess, but the state of her room is... well, basically, she seems incapable of keeping ANYTHING tidy at all. She almost never remembers to pick things up and she frequently loses things. There are times when she'll misplace her homework and spend the morning searching through her things in the hopes of finding it. It's inconvenient, but... not much she can do about it. She's sort of in love with the color green, which is annoying because the Ravenclaw color is blue. She always thought that Slytherin and Ravenclaw's colors should be switched around, merely because she prefers the color green.
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Dylan's magical strengths lie in all things WRITTEN. She can memorize stuff with no problem, but when it comes to actual magical application? Well, sometimes, she's sort of awful at it. She's better at the subjects she tries her hardest at, usually, but generally got poor grades in the wand-weilding classes such as Transfiguration, etc, despite her efforts. She's ace at History of Magic and Muggle Studies, though.
Personality wise, Dylan is probably one of the easiest people to talk to around, sometimes. She's easy going, laidback, isn't likely to jump on you about your opinions because she believes that everyone is allowed to believe and think what they want. She welcomes different opinions, and forms her own after listening to both sides of a story. She tends to research things to find out what's gone on in the past before she actually chooses a side of things. She's curious and observant, leading to her being a bit of a people watcher. She writes things down in a notebook ALL THE TIME as she's in the habit of noting all of her observations down. Which, possibly, seems creepy as sometimes she has information on people in her notebook and... well, if people actually discovered what all she's noticed about them, they might decide it's creepy. But, really, she's just preparing for life as a journalist.

Dylan's crap at anything revolving around actual wandwork. Okay, that's a bit of an overstatement. She just finds wandwork to be hard and she's not as good at it as she wishes she were. She tried hard in those classes, but dumped most of them after OWLs because she didn't think she could continue her current workload and get the grades that she wanted.
She's a bit pushy when she wants to know something. She'll pry and pry and pry to find something out, because her curiosity is simply insatiable sometimes. It's something she's trying to be better about, but she finds it tres difficult sometimes, when her curiosity is at it's peak. The more serious subjects she can usually relax about, though, which is good.

Dylan's motivated by her desire to become a journalist. She's pretty much always wanted to be one. Neither of her parents are journalists, yet she feels that it's a job that would make them proud once she had it.
Dylan's always been afraid of dogs. It's not necessarily a logical thing, as she's afraid of them whether they're small or large. There was nothing in her past that caused her to be afraid of dogs, they've just made her nervous since she was rather small. They're intimidating and.. just.. she tends to avoid them like the plague. When she was little, she went to the lake to play and, well, there were geese there. Not exactly the friendliest things in the world, as when she tried to feed them (like she fed the ducks) they chased her for the food. It didn't end too well. The last fear (of getting old and overweight) is simply because she's ENJOYING her youth. She likes being young, she likes being slender, and she's just afraid that the end of life will come too quickly for her. That time will move by too quickly and life will end up being a bit disappointing.
History:
Dylan Sullivan (Sr.) was a second generation wizard. His mum and dad had been a wizard and a witch, although all of his relationships upwards? Muggles. It was easy for him to sympathize with one Delilah Baker when she was mocked due to her muggle ancestry. The pair quickly became best friends from the train ride onward. Oddly, they were one of those relationships born from a close friendship, destined to actually last for the rest of their lives. Dylan and Delilah were married shortly after their graduation from Hogwarts.
Dylan moved on to work in the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry whereas Delilah chose to stay at home to fulfill her destiny as a writer. Granted, destiny was a bit strong of a word as to this very day? Delilah has not sold a single piece of her writing. Still, she writes regularly and enjoys it far more than actual work, so Dylan is more than happy to support the family.
It was two years into their marriage, at the age of twenty, that Delilah discovered herself pregnant. Although this hadn't been a planned event, the pair quickly got into the swing of things. They chose to use a muggle doctor to ease the fears of Delilah's parents. Told that the baby was a boy, they chose to name him Dylan Jr.
So, when little Dylan Jr. was born? Despite the fact that she was a GIRL, not a BOY, they chose to keep the name Dylan. After all, Dylan (Sr.) had really wanted to name a child after himself, and who knew when the opportunity would next arrive? So, Dylan kept her father's name, occasionally being called JUNIOR around the house to her chagrin.
Basically, she grew up in a happy little household, with an alright income, with parents who spoiled her rotten and loved each other very much. Other than the fact that her muchly beloved grandfather died when she was thirteen, Dylan had a pretty awesome childhood. Her parents weren't all that surprised when she received her Hogwarts letter. Especially considered she'd thrown a hissy fit as the age of six that locked them all inside.
