Scott read the board interestedly, and took a moment to take down the titles to read. Then his attention turned to the plants themselves. He studied them closely for a moment, they were kinda cool. Scott couldn't help but wonder if he'd be allowed to take one back to the dorm. Would that bother Asher or O'Nei-...was there any point finishing that sentence?

He sighed to himself. Screw them. He was prefect, he could...overrule them or something. Scott shook his head slowly at this thought. That wasn't going to happen anytime soon, even for really cool water babie plants. Ah well, off to work!

Hate. That was what Tobias felt for Herbology. He hated plants and plants hated him. This was the understood way of life within the greenhouses. He sat down at a desk and started poking the plants with his shears. Tobias eyed the plants hesitantly, they looked like something that should be chopped up and fed to cows or something. Merlin, they were horrid little things.

Jul stared at the plants and felt a little bad for them. People dried them up and ingested them? GROSS! She wasn't a vegetarian or anything but thinking of killing something wasn't something that crossed her mind while eating. Right now she was staring at the cute little things and just felt insanely bad for them.

She did NOT want to do this cutting. She looked around and saw Scott already "diving in" so to speak and hoped that Maggie would get there soon and have more of a stomach for this sort of thing so they could both pass.

Cutting a helpless plant up? No, that was not Maddox's idea of a good time. So, instead of getting to work, he sat at his bench and waited for Rosy. She was going to be a Healer, she could do it!

He stayed there, grabbing a piece of parchment and a quill as he watched the aquarium.

Rosy, late to Herbology (and that was a first since she was nearly never late!), tried to quietly enter. She down next to Maddox, breathing rather deeply. "Okay so what's happening here? Oh my goodness," she said after touching the water baby and hearing it make a giggling sound, "what is this?"

Denys studied the Water Babie for a while. It looked pretty and peaceful. Utterly adorable. No one could not like them unless they had plunged headfirst into an aquarium filled with load of them when they were little and then received a beating for it.

The Slytherin smiled cruelly and started hacking away at the plant as if he had something to prove.

Dome usually hated Herbology, but Professor Flave never failed at making things interesting in class. If it wasn't for her, he'd probably have dropped it at the end of Fifth Year. He took up a spot with one of the small aquariums and eyed it curiously. What could possibly be going on today?

Suzie slipped into the table next to Dome. She was usually paired with Vince, so she left the seat next to her open for when he showed up.

"Hi Dome!" Suzie smiled and then looked down at the bowl, then up at the board, then down at the bowl again, smile completely gone. "BUT IT'S ALIVE!" She said rather too loudly, covering her mouth in horror, absolutely shocked.

Dome grinned happily when he spotted Suzie. "Hey!" he said. He was about to ask her how her last class had been when she was suddenly shouting and looking horrified, eyeing the aquarium on her table.

It never occured to him that they'd be dissecting these things. Were they really alive? "Do you think we're..killing these things?" he said, mostly to himself. He didn't want to scare her further.
