As did I. I absolutely love Capaldi in this role. He feels unquestionably like the Doctor.

He's doing a superb job, but I wish the script would let him display a little of the charm he unquestionably has.

Which is another way of saying I wish River were going to show up. I'm already tired of the petulant old man. It's cute up to the point that it starts to seem pathological.

But anyway. I was surprised that nobody in the show had made the obvious assumption before about Twelve and Clara: that he was her father. I hadn't even thought it in as many words.
