Doctor Who Toile.

For background, on my last trip to England I brought home a huge stash of Liberty fabrics. I adore textiles.

I LOVE the concept, but the execution was a bit lacking. It doesn't really have the flow of a traditional toile, and the Gallifreyan in particular just kind of seems like an afterthought. But GOD, I love me some toile. Abbey's baby room was chock full of it. Of course, she's graduated to "cooler" stuff, but I at least had my say for the first few years.

I agree. A better execution might have some of the Who characters wandering through the pastoral scenes. To be really clever, the repeat could be quite large, but with the appearance of a smaller repeat. The Who parts of the scene would vary from background-repeat to repeat, so that it took a while to get the full picture. (Kind of like a Richard Scarry book). That would be especially good for comforter covers and sheets.

Well, now I know a source if I ever need custom fabric printing.

I know a lot of people who swear by Spoonflower. I've never ordered from them myself, but I may eventually. I love that they exist.

Yes, they seem like a wonderful resource. I could design fabrics with toning patterns and colors to the sweaters I make (or would make if I didn't have to make a living!) and make accessories, or other garments.
