Arthur stood silently behind the throne, watching Merlin. Merlin hadn't changed at all. He still smiled, bright and happy and he still cared about the people, everyone in the realm.

Magic was free now, free to do whatever it was that magic did, which is more than what Arthur could say for himself. The heavy steel collar round his neck was testament to that.

Merlin had killed Uther with magic, smiling his goofy grin all the while, and then taken out any that opposed him. Very few opposed him. Morgana had supported Merlin up until the point when she realised that he was a lot more ruthless than his innocent and naive front would have you believe.

Morgana had thought that Merlin would share ruling with her, or be easily crushed if he didn't, that wasn't the case. Merlin doesn't share. Not his ill-begotten kingdom, not his crown and definatly not his 'Manservant', Arthur Pendragon, the former Prince of Albion

OP here. Oh wow, this was great. I liked how Merlin still remained himself, happy and smiling, while at the same time committing all these terrible crimes. It actually makes it more chilling than if he transformed into some sort of brooding angry dark lord figure. I liked the snippets about Morgana and how she realised that Merlin was more ruthless than she thought. I also liked how Arthur started off defiant but eventually gave in and acknowledged that he enjoyed it. Really good job, thanks so much!

But i hought merlin still care about the people yet he commit crimes. Really hot! never thought Arthur would love it but they are 2 side of the same coin after all
