Really So Different?

Disclaimers: I do not own any of these characters. That pleasure belongs to Eric Kripke and James Cameron, respectively.

Summary: A Dark Angel/Supernatural crossover drabble. Character piece of sorts. AU, ignores timeline issues.

I still like this, and think you could flesh it out more.

You need to work on the LJ-cut, though.

I'd like to, but I only have vague inklings as to what I could write as follow-up at the moment. I'm working on two other fics, and I have some more ideas.

Re:LJ-cut - Really? When I'm logged out and I view it, I can't see the rest of the entry. What should I do?

I've never run into this problem before. Weird. Check the FAQ.

Thanks, I did, and now it's fixed. The problem is that I highlighted the text I wanted to be seen instead of the text I didn't want seen. I thought the way it worked would involve highlighting a small amount of text, not most of the story. A bit embarassing, but no harm done.

Well, that's certainly a cool idea. I love when people crossover SPN with Dark Angel!

Me, too! It's not just that Ben, Alec, and Dean are all played by Jensen, they actually fit together. Thanks for reading.

It can work really well....hell, even if you DON'T mess with the timeline....I mean I read a really good slash fic where Sam, now like 37 and alone since losing his brother years earlier, was lovers with Alec...and realizing that it was almost as bad as loving Dean because they were both so gungho and lived dangerous lives.

So yeah....I do love me some SPN/DA crossovers.

Yup, I've read more than one like that.

My favorite dialogue was Helena and Valentine's exchange with the Griffin (performing the role of a Sphinx for some reason), followed by that circus lady saying, "We are rats sinking the leaving ship." The Dark Queen got in some great lines as well, and the Dark Princess' letter was wonderfully irreverent. The dreamlike sequence where Helena is talking to Joanne/the White Queen is my favorite aesthetically, followed by the Dark Princess' bedroom. And who can forget "Close to You"?

In terms of crossover potential, it inspires some half-formed ideas of rebellious kids having a row with their parents (say, Sam and John or Jo and Ellen) and then swapping places with their black-eyed doppelgangers, don't you think so?
