After Sweets leaves he takes a quick shower and spends the next hour or two cleaning the room.

Following which, for want of any better option, he walks out into the Bar and starts getting thoroughly drunk again.

His hair is still a little bloody, and there are red-brown stains under all ten fingernails.

Her note said she was going out to get groceries. But even Downside, most people don't go grocery shopping wearing steel-toed boots and carrying a razor blade in their mouth.

She's gonna go do something stupid, but it needs to be done.

The bar seems to concur, since that is where her front door leads her.

She spends a moment being pissed, before she recognizes a particular man at the bar.

There's a moment where she almost turns around and walks back out. Where she almost throws up.

The moment passes.

She crosses the room and takes a seat beside him. "Remember me?"

Smiiirk.

"'Course I do. You're the one who wanted to learn from me. Well? Learn anything besides how to have some real exciting nightmares?"

[got_your_tongue]

"Picked up a few things."

She glances pointedly at his nails.

"Is that hers?"

"Back up a step, honey."

He puts down an empty shot glass-- who knows how much he's had so far-- and raises his eyebrows.

"Is that whose?"
