Weekend Update

Mar 25, 2006 19:21

I know I said I was going to spend the weekend learning. So far I've done no homework, studied no Storey, read one Pratchett and a bit of Castle of Otranto... but now I am off to watch Isaacs The Patriot because my will is that weak.

And there is Ennis Heather Ledger, too ( Read more... )

I never saw "The Patriot". But...Isaacs? *sudden interest*

lots of isaacsy isaacs :) I always get mixed feeling about this film - on one hand, it's largely inaccurate historically as well as guilty of kitch and gibsonism - on the other, there is Isaacs, Ledger and certain characters are really likeable - the main theme of the flm has me shrugging (not exactly my idea of patriotism) but there are a few bits I really liked.

Not a film I'd buy, but one I would gladly watch on the TV, if only for the eye candy :)

Glad to hear from you - been thinking you must be very busy. :)

*sigh* Indeed I am. And when I'm not busy, I'm sleeping :) I'd love to spend much more time here on LJ, reading and commenting. There'll be an update to my journal tonight, though. Maybe even a long one.

My inner historian would probably hide in a corner sobbing when watching The Patriot. But I'm always up for watching crappy movies purely for the eye candy. Ewan McGregor was probably the only reason I suffered through all of The Island.

Looking forward to the update. Always happy to hear from you :)

What made you decide to real Castle of Otranto?

My Literature PhD ;) Although that's probably a who. I doubt I'd be doing it out of my own accord. :)
