Może i ma w sobie coś z hipokrytki. Może wie, że nie przestała kochać Angela z chwilą, gdy stracił duszę. Że to nigdy nie jest takie proste; granice są zatarte, a ich znaczenie ustalasz sama.

Może była kiedyś taka Buffy, której serce było większe, a ramiona otwarte. Którą przyciągnęłaby ciemność w sercu Spike'a i jego paląca potrzeba. Która nie stałaby na progu jego krypty, kalkulując szanse.

Taka Buffy, która nie wiedziałaby, nie miałaby tej zimnej, bezlitosnej pewności, że gdy poprosi go o narażenie życia, pomoc w ucieczce z miasta, nie będzie umiał powiedzieć nie.
