gauge query

hey y'all, i'm new (knitting and community wise). i want to make zeeby's bag from snb, so i knit up a swatch to figure out my gauge. it's a bit bigger than what the pattern calls for, but does it matter because it's a bag? i *should* get some smaller needles but my lys is closed and i'm really excited to start on my first real project

I just started the same project tonight! My gauge is a lot smaller, but I just casted on some extra stitches and I'll wing it from there. Good luck!

yeah, just go for it - patterns tend only to be (quite important) guidelines so that you can adapt to suit yourself.

i'm impatient too - i once used pink thread as a stitch marker cos i couldn't wait to get to my lys!
